Poppy Playtime is an extremely popular series of survival horror games with puzzle elements, developed and published by the independent studio MOB Games (now Mob Entertainment). The first chapter for Windows PC was released in October 2021. The second part (as DLC) became available in May 2022. In the same year, mobile versions for Android and iOS appeared. Chapter 3 was released in January 2024, followed by Chapter 4 in January 2025. Next comes the highly anticipated Chapter 5, which is expected to conclude the main storyline.
The protagonist of the game is a former employee of the Playtime Co. toy factory. He seeks to uncover the mystery of a tragic incident that happened ten years before the events of the game and led to the disappearance of the entire staff. The adventure begins when he receives a mysterious letter and a videotape from one of the missing workers.
This is a first-person game where you must survive inside an abandoned toy factory filled with terrifying, living toys. They appear unexpectedly and relentlessly chase the player. To solve the mystery, you need to complete puzzles, gather clues, and collect recordings scattered throughout the factory to piece together the dark story.
The series has received high praise from both critics and players thanks to its unique mechanics, detailed visuals, immersive atmosphere, clever puzzles, and outstanding animation. Poppy Playtime quickly became a cultural phenomenon: fan videos, art, memes, and animations featuring its characters flooded social media. Toys of Huggy Wuggy, Mommy Long Legs, and other characters became highly desired among children and collectors. There are also reports of an upcoming film adaptation of the game.
